McCormick Construction Consultancy Armed Forces Covenant

In 2024, McCormick Construction Consultancy signed the Armed Forces Business Covenant.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise to acknowledge and understand that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy, and society they serve with their lives.

It has two core principles:

  • Those who serve in the Armed Forces, whether Regular or Reserve, those who have served in the past, and their families, should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services.
  • Special Consideration is appropriate in some cases, especially for those who have given most such as the injured and the breaved.

McCormick Construction Consultancy’s pledge highlighted these principles, vowing the company to do as follows:

  • Promoting the Armed Forces
    • Social media posts on our LinkedIn Page, including one commencing our achievement of the accreditation.
    • Publicise the accreditation and scheme on our website.
    • Displaying the certification in our central office where clients, employees and future employees can see.
    • Place the Armed Forces Covenant logo within our email signature and on relevant social media posts
    • Advertise the Armed Forces Day on our social media.
  • Support and considerations to employees who are members of the Armed Forces Community:
    • Encourage Armed Forces members to join our organisation, additionally, upon demonstrating an interest we will ensure an inclusive application process and acknowledge their unique skills and qualifications.
    • If an Armed Forces member were to be accepted into a role, we would support health complications as a consequence of being in the Armed Forces.
    • We will look sympathetically on requests for holidays before, during or after a partner’s overseas deployment to allow for time with their family.
    • We will look sympathetically on requests for leave as a consequence of employees who are bereaved or have an injured loved one.
    • Accomodate any reservists’ training commitments wherever possible.
    • Accomodate mobilisation of any reservists if they are required to deploy.
